In Stars and Time physical

In Stars and Time, which was already made available digitally on Nintendo Switch, is now taking the physical route. Limited Run Games confirmed plans for production today.

The company appears to be working on just a standard version at this time. There don’t appear to be any special editions happening, but we’ll keep you updated if we hear otherwise.

While Xbox did this previously, 2024 marked the year when the company made its biggest push yet regarding releasing its games on other platforms. Nintendo Switch benefited from the approach in the form of Grounded and Pentiment on the console.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer has now briefly weighed in on Microsoft’s approach going forward. In an interview with Bloomberg, while discussing bringing more games to Nintendo and PlayStation, he said that there are no “red lines in our portfolio that say ‘thou must not.'” He added that no decisions have been made about the next Halo given how early in development that game is.

GTA Trilogy update 1.112

After the patch started to make its way out yesterday, the new 1.112 update for GTA Trilogy (technically called Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition) is live on Nintendo Switch. We can confirm that all three games in the collection have been spruced up on the console.

Rockstar has shared its official patch notes, which note various fixes and improvements. Also, probably the biggest thing here is the lighting. Players can now select Classic Lighting mode to more closely emulate the look of the original games.

A final trailer has come through for Tetris Forever that ties in with this week’s launch. The Nintendo Switch collection features various games, the new Tetris Time Warp, and documentary featurettes.

Mario & Luigi Brothership review

System: Switch
Release date: November 8, 2024
Developer: Nintendo
Publisher: Acquire / Nintendo

The last year or so has been a remarkable year for RPGs, especially ones with “Mario” in the title. We’ve already been graced with lavishly produced remakes of both Super Mario RPG and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door – and now, Nintendo is closing out the year with a brand new, wholly original RPG in the form of Mario & Luigi: Brothership. The Mario & Luigi series was originally helmed by Alphadream before their unfortunate closure in 2019, for Brothership, Nintendo has tapped Way of the Samurai and Tenchu developer Acquire to carry the torch forward. While the franchise’s new stewards have done an admirable job adhering to the series’ identity, some considerable missteps prevent the latest Mario & Luigi entry from reaching the lofty heights of its predecessors.
