Mario Sonic future series

July 29: Is the future of the Mario & Sonic series in doubt? According to someone heavily involved with the series, it could be finished.

Lee Cocker, who has worked on every Mario & Sonic game, recently put out a message on social media stating that there won’t be a Mario & Sonic game for the 2024 Olympics. Given that the event is happening now, that’s not exactly surprising. But the same message also claims that the series is “finished” – things supposedly wrapped up with Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.

Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble roadmap new content

SEGA confirmed this week that it’s planning even more content for Super Monkey Ball: Banana Rumble, with the game set to receive new multiplayer modes and stages as well as additional characters.

Details about the specifics were not shared. However, the general outline was provided in a roadmap shared on social media.

SEGA is back with a new Sonic x Shadow Generations trailer titled “Generations of Stages”. This time around, the company is highlighting stages players can expect to see in the Shadow the Hedgehog campaign. Comparisons are available with the new versions going up against the originals.

Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba Sweep the Board 1.10 update Genya Shinazugawa and Kanao Tsuyuri

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Sweep the Board got a new update on Switch today with version 1.10.

The main highlight is that Genya Shinazugawa and Kanao Tsuyuri are now playable. Both can be accessed on the roster for free. Some other content and improvements are also included.

Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble update 1.10

SEGA just started distribution of a new version 1.10 update for Super Monkey Ball: Banana Rumble.

The update is highlighted by Sky Highway as a new Race stage. It also includes a stat increase for Sonic, stability improvements, and more.

Sonic the Hedgehog hasn’t done much in the RPG space, but it’s something that Sonic Team boss Takashi Iizuka hopes to pursue.

Iizuka spoke about his interest in the genre while talking with Good Vibes Gaming. Despite acknowledging that he’d like to make a Sonic RPG happen before he retires, he was quick to point out that no concrete plans are currently in place.

Sonic Superstars gains Retro Diner Style Amy costume

A small bonus was just made available in Sonic Superstars in the form of the Retro Diner Style Amy costume. Switch players can access it now.

The costume contains new apparel for Amy to wear that brings a fun retro vibe to the Northstar Islands. The costume can be equipped during character selection by choosing Amy, and after that, selecting the left or right button when playing Story Mode. Note that it’s entirely free.

Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble gameplay
